Why do you insist on putting the declared ticket sales despite the fact any cunt can see there was no where near that amount of people in attendance?

Is it a deliberate thing so people can question it or are you lot just thick lapdogs?

We blew our beans v tottenhm, and were like lost little sheep without our captain, as is so often the way. That mixed with all ourother injuries and Liverpool wanting it so much more, what with the rewards for their win being potentially much bigger than a win for us would have been.

One more match, and then time for some big decisions.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Liverpool - Official Match Thread ATT: 56,985 FT 0-4
Sadly we need more than 6 replacements or upgrades to what is a bottom 6 - 8 squad IMO.

Randolph needs to be binned
Feghouli, Tore, Calleri, Nordtveit, Fletcher, Arbeloa, Carroll, Sakho and IMO Fletcher all not good enough.

Collins, Noble, Kouyate in midfield should not be bench players much more. We need a whole new set of forwards, a quality central midfield player, wide left midfield player. All need to have pace, play with high intensity, be able to pass and control the ball at speed.

But we will not come close to replacing all the above or getting the quality to upgrade. Some talk over there yesterday that the budget is again around 50 - 60 million. Ok we know 100 million badly spent does not help but at 50 - 60 million, with the glaring holes and lack of squad strength and depth, we will be going nowhere fast.

On top of all that we have a manager who seems more like a friendly Uncle to the players.

I am setting my expectations low for next season and just hoping to survive. I might still be disappointed but its far more realistic than the top 6 , next level nonsense.

That was a disgusting spineless performance!...We saw against Spurs how we should play, hunting in packs, closing down all over the park, yet there was none of that yesterday just back to the strolling around pointlessly with no effort!..Its not rocket science we are limited in quality department compared to these teams and have to make up for it by putting a shift in!..no excuses for me it was unacceptable as we can do it but just chose not to!!!..We need at least 6 new players who are willing to run themselves into the ground!

33% possession sums it up.
Our injuries caught up with us today. The Spuds result was above my expectations so I'll forget this collapse & just put it down to Liverpool wanting it more & us being depleted.

1st half was actually quite even & if we had a decent strike force we would have been level.

What is obvious that the also-rans in our squad don't cut it so I expect to see the back of the likes of Calleri, Feghouli, Tore, Sakho, Valencia, Nordveit and maybe even Carroll...
TBH Snodgrass could go as well.

Can't f*****ng wait

Yes AMA. Full stadia in the premier league will generate a profit for owners that spend on the cheap. Especially when they are paying nothing for the home ground.

The only statistic that matters isn't the 33% possession we had at home, but the 56,985 that was. That is why things will stagnate and not get better.

That's my issue with Lanzini,.Alex. I love the guy, and he is very, very good at what he does. But he is not able to or best utilised as one of a three because he just doesn't have a battling side to his game and so that three ends up being an exposed two without the ball.

We either need a proper, top drawer, defensive midfielder who does enough work to make a central two work, or we need to rethink things so he can play ahead of a.proper three man midfield.

Great post and I agree with most of it. The one excuse I would offer for the midfield was it was our midfield pair against their four-man diamond - a selection that was basically throwing two of our less secure players to the wolves outnumbered against more established players from a top team. I feel for Fernandes who needs to play in a three while he finds his feet - that said I thought he did okay.

Mildly amusing moment from the press box. I guess one of Liverpool's media team celebrated their second goal a little too much, seeing as he was sat last in the row right by the home fans.

Found himself wearing half a cup of tea and facing a lot of angry Hammers until he wisely decided to shuffle along the row a bit.

If I ever see again that ridiculous Sturridge wavey arm thing after he's scored a goal.......utterly cunty.

If Ayew scored from 2 yards it's 1-1. If Byram gets his shot on target it's probably 1-0 at half time. We can't miss the target from chances like those.

Swarbrick's a wanker. How is that not a foul on Winston, or how does he not stop play for a head injury?
We lost the game in the first half, or at least the chance to have some semblance of control.

Could having Noble on the pitch have made a difference - someone to marshal the troops and deny them time on the ball/space?

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Liverpool - Official Match Thread
We were actually doing ok up until their first goal. If we'd carried on in that fashion then we could have given ourselves a chance. Although maybe not with Ayew and Callieri who were both absolutely shocking. Ayew actually hid behind a defender at one point because he didn't want to be passed the ball. Fletcher looked at least as 'good' as Callieri, without doing the ridiculous things like a fucking backheel to no one. I couldn't see anything to solve the mystery of why Bilic insists on not giving him more of a chance when we are down to picking those two clowns in his place.

Instead of persevering, however, we looked utterly shellshocked by the goal and spent 10 minutes playing like strangers and were probably lucky to get to half time only one down. Oh well, at least we'd given ourselves a cjance and could reorganise at half time. Nope. Fuck knows what Bilic said to them in the dressing room, or what Klopp said to his players (it was noticeable that Klopp came out well before the second half kicked off, presumably having felt he'd said enough and wanted to allow the players to digest it amongst themselves) but they came out at a million miles an hour and we looked no better than before, if not worse. Bilic's half time talks have seemed a concern for a while and today certainly didn't do him any favours.

When Bilic finally changed something, the whole team seemed to struggle with the concept of playing in a defensive formation that they were using regularly up until a few months ago and which most of them have probably played with for most of their careers. Baffling. Bilic made some awful decisions today but the players have to take responsibility too. Unfortunately, Bilic then compounded his own errors by not managing to get a grip on the way the players were performing, either through changes, direction, or motivation.

I am still not sure whether Ferghouli always checks back inside because he's the most one footed player in the world, or just because he doesn't trust anyone else to keep up with him. But whatever the reason, it is achieving nothing and at this point he is just a tanned Matt Jarvis.

Nortveidt can do a job when he is tasked with sitting on someone but when he has to go looking for the ball it is embarassing. It looked like their midfield was toying with a dog, knocking the ball one way so he'd chase it knowing he would never get there, and then making him run straight back again. Fernandes showed he is definitely not ready to start games despite how much we'd like to believe in the glimpses we've seen. Both he and Nortveidt were inept but also seemed to have been given no direction at all.

In the end, the only players who came out with any credit were probably Reid (who was effectively manning the barricades on his own), Adrian, and Lanzini. Collins was all over the shop even before we went to a back four. Byram and Cresswell are both full backs by trade, and looked like little boys lost especially once asked to play in roles they ought to know well enough by now.

We can blame Callieri for Liverpool breaking for the second goal but so much went wrong so quickly afterwards that cannot be excused. Similarly, not stopping play for Reid's head injury was inexcusable (and Klopp jumping up and down when he knew full well that the goal shouldn't have happened pissed me off) but this wasn't a game of fine margins or one where we can feel at all hard done by.

The truth is we were fucking woeful. No, there weren't many options on the bench but as others have said once the game was lost why not at least give Quina or Rice a run out? The time to bring Snodgrass on was at halftime for Ayew, who inexplicably survived two thirds of the game despite offering nothing at all. I'm no fan of Snodgrass and especially not of pretending he's a striker, but in those circumstances he was the best option. Persisting with Ayew wasn't even vaguely feasible and right now I'd take twenty quid for him the moment the window opens and try to forget the whole sorry episode.

The deficiencies of the squad available were clearly an issue but the management of the options to hand made things much, much worse.

A very poor day for Bilic who must be praying for a good performance at Burnley now if he is to have any confidence going into his meeting with the board in a few weeks.

Thought Fegouhli was bright, think he is worth keeping. Ref was looking directly at the forearm smash that Reid took in the face. I was expecting a hiding and we got one.
